A Grassroots Effort

Did you know… while over 500 children ages 5 & under reside in Kit Carson County, there are only 42 licensed daycare spots.  In the US, roughly 70% of mothers are employed.  This equates to roughly 300 young children in our county who need childcare while no licensed spots are available for them.

 

A group of community members has started a non-profit organization to work toward building a new childcare center in Burlington. The group's goal is to develop and eventually provide a high quality, affordable, convenient, and dependable educational environment for children 6 weeks to 12 years old for the benefit of the children and families of Burlington and the surrounding area.

All Burlington citizens are urged to come together to support this project for the sake of improving our support system for young families.  This will in turn create healthier parents and children, as well as a more sustainable economy and community for generations to come.
